Software Sales, Newbury, Berkshire, UK

Due to growth we are seeking a sales person with strong business development skills to help develop our software business in UK and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global market-leading software company within the civil and environmental engineering field. XP Solutions supplies software products for water management, including drainage design, flood risk management, water distribution and road design. Our market leading products include MicroDrainage, xpswmm, and xpsite3D.

You are likely to be an intelligent and highly-motivated sales person with inside and outside sales experience, preferably in software/technology. Our ideal candidate has spent at least two years in business to business sales, has territory management skills and is comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contact prospects and customers to maximize sales revenue.
  • Demonstrate the value of our software and services to engineers and senior level decision makers.
  • Use existing leads and research the internet for potential new sales leads for their designated territory and guide potential clients through the sales process.
  • Arrange and present at sales seminars, conferences, webinars and technical workshops.
  • Arrange and make one-to-one sales presentations and software demonstrations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Setup and maintain customer records in the Salesforce.com database.
  • Identify trends in customer needs and software uses and provide feedback to management.
  • Meet established calling and activity quotas to maximize territory potential.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • B.Sc. degree or above in Engineering, Geography, Marketing, or Business.
  • At least two years’ experience in business to business sales.
  • Ideally experience with demonstrating the commercial value of software products.
  • Some experience in the Civil Engineering field or with CAD and modelling software would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Effective people and negotiating skills.
  • Proactive, a strong team player and willing to accept challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate the business value of technical features.

Regional Territory Manager for California, Texas, Southeast US, Mid-Atlantic U.S.

The Regional Territory Manager is responsible for all sales activities within the assigned territory including public and private customers and prospects. They must develop relationships with key government agencies to drive acceptance of XP’s products and methodologies. They are responsible for professionally representing the company and educating the marketplace via presentations, meetings and demonstrations.

  • Build sustainable relationships and network throughout customer accounts
  • Gain acceptance from key municipal, county and government agencies for XP’s products
  • Identify and develop new accounts to build the potential customer base
  • Work effectively with product managers and application specialists to advance opportunities
  • Cross sell multiple products and services to multiple disciplines within the same account

Qualifications:

  • Civil engineering degree
  • Flood modelling and stormwater/site design experience preferred
  • 5+ years B2B sales experience and ability to sell technical products (Software sales preferred)

  • Seasoned CRM used with track record of organized activity and opportunity management
  • Must be ethical, hard-working, personable, resilient and flourish in a team environment
  • Ability to travel 75% within territory, company meetings, and limited international travel

Product Manager ANZ – Stormwater & Flood, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

We are currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team as Product Manager for Australia and New Zealand. This is an integral role where you will build relationships with clients through the provision of engineering guidance regarding our XP Solutions product range. Reporting to the Vice President, Asia Pacific and working closely with the Director of Product Innovation you will establish product capability requirements, product development requirements and will assist in technical discussions that will enable our sales team to finalise agreements. You will be responsible for conducting technical activities such as seminars and workshops. This role would best suit an engineer that has a particular interest in being a technical expertise in water resources engineering, latest software technology and business development.

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Taking part in industry association activities to identify client involvement and accumulate market data
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of all XP products capabilities for stormwater and flood management
  • Conducting technical product workshops and demonstrations for clients including the facilitation of training
  • Promotion of XP Solutions at trade shows, conferences, publications and social media
  • Research and analysis of the market and competitor products to identify specific trends
  • Research activities in reviewing updated local, state and national legislation to understand client requirements and needs

To be successful you will display:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering (water resources specialisation)

We are currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team and provide support and advice to XP clients on the usage of XP products, ensuring their issues are managed in an efficient and timely manner. This role would best suit an engineer that has a particular interest in technical software.

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Aiding clients with the provision of advice relating to the design, implementation and troubleshooting of XP models

  • Testing and troubleshooting models
  • Contributing to product research and development by carrying out requirements analysis, specification and testing

Junior Software Developer (Engineering Applications) in Newbury, Berkshire, UK

This is an opportunity to be part of a Research & Development Team developing first class software products to support the worldwide success XP Solutions. We are looking for a junior software developer for engineering, mathematical and technical applications. We are not recruiting web-site developers. You will be supported by other team members and be encouraged to develop new skills in a friendly, but highly productive, environment.

Our products run in the .NET environment and support environmental and engineering industries and include water management and drainage design software. Our users range from civil engineers to landscape architects: you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand the technical nature of their work. You need to be a good communicator with written, verbal and presentational skills.

Your responsibilities will depend on your level of experience but will include:
      • Programming: to develop new functions, implement feature requests and fix bugs.
      • Software design and specification, in collaboration with product managers.
      • Software testing and deployment of new products or features.
