Accounts Administrator, Newbury, Berkshire, UK

Due to growth we are seeking an Accounts Administrator with a strong background in administration and finance to support our Accounts Co-ordinator. This will involve maintaining accurate Company accounts, producing all necessary reports, issuing, chasing and responding to client accounts queries and providing first class client support. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global market-leading software company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice customers in relation to software sales, training and maintenance
  • Manage customer queries in relation to invoices
  • Manage company credit control (sales, training and maintenance)
  • Produce monthly statements
  • Process receipts on accounting system and ensure all records are kept up to date
  • Issue customers with the XP Solutions bank details to aid payment of invoices via BACS
  • Receive and process supplier invoices against relevant Purchase Orders and obtain the relevant signatures against invoices without Purchase Orders
  • Ensure accounting system is kept up to date with all supplier invoice activity
  • Manage queries in relation to supplier invoices
  • Process Credit Card receipts and all staff expenses
  • Maintain all accounting paperwork and filing systems
  • Ensure client change of address details are inputted on relevant systems
  • Provide cover as appropriate for other members of the accounts/administration team

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years experience within a financial/ accounting role
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • GCSE level in English Language and Mathematics
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Proven communication and problem solving ability
  • Excellent work ethic (self-motivated, flexible and with a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality service)
  • Strong written, presentation and keyboard skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and general software tools
  • Proven experience in accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail

Software Sales Executive, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

Primary Objectives

We are seeking an intelligent and highly-motivated Sales Executive with inside and outside sales experience, preferably in software/technology. This is a terrific opportunity to join an established and respected software organization within the civil and environmental engineering field. Our ideal candidate has spent at least three years in business to business sales, has territory management skills and is comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment.

Principal Responsibilities

Using the tools, database and training made available, the Sales Executive will:

  • Research and find new leads, and also effectively utilize leads from marketing exercises for their designated territory and guide potential clients through the sales process
  • Demonstrate the value of XP Solutions software products to engineers and senior level decision makers.
  • Setup and maintain leads and customer records in the Salesforce Database
  • Establish new and maintain existing relationships with active customers
  • Identify trends in customer needs and software uses, and provide feedback to management
  • Meet established calling and activity quotas to maximize territory potential
  • Be willing to travel on occasion for industry tradeshows or key client meetings

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in sales data mining
  • Experienced closing sales opportunities
  • At least three years’ experience in business to business sales
  • Experience with demonstrating the commercial value of civil engineering software products

Junior Software Developer (Engineering Applications) in Newbury, Berkshire, UK

This is an opportunity to be part of a Research & Development Team developing first class software products to support the worldwide success XP Solutions. We are looking for a junior software developer for engineering, mathematical and technical applications. We are not recruiting web-site developers. You will be supported by other team members and be encouraged to develop new skills in a friendly, but highly productive, environment.

Our products run in the .NET environment and support environmental and engineering industries and include water management and drainage design software. Our users range from civil engineers to landscape architects: you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand the technical nature of their work. You need to be a good communicator with written, verbal and presentational skills.

Your responsibilities will depend on your level of experience but will include:
      • Programming: to develop new functions, implement feature requests and fix bugs.
      • Software design and specification, in collaboration with product managers.
      • Software testing and deployment of new products or features.
      • Providing support to clients as appropriate (software query advice).
      • Writing software documentation.
      • It is likely that you will have some experience with engineering, mathematical or scientific software in which you may have used C#, C++, Fortran or VB.
Essential experience:
      • Computing, Maths, Science or Engineering degree or a related discipline.
      • Object oriented software development.
      • C# or VB.NET or C++.
Valuable experience:
      • Windows UI design using .NET.
      • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including unit testing and industry standard design patterns.
      • Use of source control systems (such as Team Foundation Server or Visual SourceSafe).
      • Development of mathematical modelling software.
      • Graphics technologies including OpenGL, DirectX.
      • CAD and/or GIS software.
      • Database development.
      • Technical support 1st or 2nd line.
      • Development of applications for the water industry, environmental industries or site design.
