Sanitary Sewer & Modeling Webinar Series

This series was presented by Adam Rose, P.E., GISP, Water & Sewer Products Manager

Summary

Are you tasked with either building a new sanitary sewer model or updating and managing an existing model? This five-part series on sanitary sewer modeling and management is intended to provide expanded understanding and clarity.

#1: Intro to Sanitary Sewers

This video focuses on the components that make up the overall physical system and on the development of dry weather flows under various conditions. The discussion is both theoretical and practical, with the goal of the attendee leaving with a solid understanding of all major aspects of the operation and control of a sanitary sewer system.

#2: The World of Wet Weather

You'll learn about the different sources of rainfall derived inflow and infiltration (RDII) and how each of those sources can be modeled using different standard methods. You'll also learn best practices for the different methods so you can be sure your model is built to industry standards.

#3: Calibration

Models need to be calibrated before they can provide their best values: validation and projection. Are you tasked with calibrating your sanitary sewer model? Wondering where to start? Wondering when you’re done? This informative webinar will cover practical methods and best practices in this oftentimes confusing and undervalued realm of modeling.

#4: Pumps!

An important part of many sanitary sewer networks are the pumping facilities that keep flow moving. This webinar will cover how to model pumps and storage facilities, the best ways to model pump controls, and discuss how many pumps actually operate in the field.
